Nyerere National Park, part of the expansive Selous ecosystem, is the largest national park in Africa. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, and hippos. The park offers a stunning safari experience with untouched wilderness and is beautifully framed by the Rufiji River, where many bird species can also be seen.
Itinerary day by day
Day 1: Fly from Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park
- Early morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to Zanzibar Airport.
- Board a domestic flight departing at 7:30 AM, arriving in Nyerere National Park by 8:30 AM.
- Begin your adventure with a thrilling game drive, exploring the park’s diverse wildlife and scenic views.
- Enjoy a mid morning break at 10:30 AM for coffee or tea.
- Lunch will be a picnic hamper with hot dishes, complete with a table setup in the heart of nature.
- After a fantastic day of game viewing, head to Africa Safari Selous for dinner and overnight on a full board basis.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive & Return to Zanzibar
- After breakfast and check out, continue your safari with another game drive in Nyerere National Park.
- Enjoy a picnic lunch with hot dishes as you take in the beauty of the park.
- The game drive ends at 3:30 PM, after which you will transfer to Mtemere Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar, departing at 4:05 PM and arriving at 5:05 PM.
- Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
